Today's good thing is accountability. On the advice of a dear friend, I agreed to set some writing goals -- I'm attempting to reach a certain word count each day. Weekends can be difficult sometimes, but at least 5 days a week, I've set aside time to write. Every few days (or whenever we catch each other on Instant Messaging), I tell her how many words I have written . Doing this has really helped me to write religiously. No pun intended. ha! ha! I write "inspirational" romance. Get it? Okay, so it was lame. I just couldn't resist.
Being accountable to someone, besides myself, has "lit a fire under me" as the saying goes. I've managed to write over 9,000 words on my WIP in the last four days. That may not be a lot to any of you seasoned writers -- but for me, it's great!
I don't mean to sound like Martha Stewart and say "it's a good thing" again; but it is....a good thing. As you all know, I recently implemented a schedule to help me keep my house in order and to accomplish some writing. I have to say that it's working out marvelously. (Notice I didn't say perfectly? I'm staying away from that word.)
Accountability: to account for one's actions. Yep, it's really helped me to share the goals I have set for myself and if I'm accomplishing them or not. So.....Thank you, Renee Lynn Scott-- for pushing me to set some goals and be diligent! And thank you to those who leave comments for me. They encourage me so much!

I think 9,000 words in four days is quite remarkable, Susie. You should be very proud of yourself. I think for any writer, setting goals is extremely important--writing everyday keeps the wheels turning. I'm proud of you for all you've achieved this week. Keep it going.

Thanks, Keli! It's been VERY exciting! Granted, this is only my first draft and I still have a long way to go on it. Then I'll have to go back, flesh it out where it needs it, edit it for typos, grammatical stuff, content, consistency, etc. And there's probably other stuff I'll need to do that I don't even know about yet. =) But hey, at least I'm writing, learning through the process,and making some awesome friends along the way. At this stage of the game, I'd say I'm quite happy about things. Thanks for always taking time to comment. You're a bigger blessing to me than you know!
